11/28/2006

On Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, the City of Johns Creek's official day of incorporation, US Rep. Tom Price (6th-GA) will present the new city with an American flag flown over the U.S. Capitol in its honor.

Congressman Price will present the flag to Johns Creek Mayor Mike Bodker and the city council in a Special Called City Council meeting at 3 pm Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, at 11555 Medlock Bridge Road, Suite 170 in Johns Creek.

The flag was flown the day of Johns Creek's inaugural ceremony, Tuesday, Nov. 14, as official ceremonies were held in Johns Creek and as Congressman Price addressed the floor of the US House of Representatives to congratulate the new city.

"Johns Creek is a vibrant, engaged and dynamic community. They have seized the opportunity to have a direct impact on their future. This achievement also comes with many new responsibilities. I am confident that the citizens will successfully embrace these new challenges. As our tenth-largest city, Johns Creek will also be a leader in our larger Georgia community," said Price to his fellow members of Congress.

"We congratulate the people of Johns Creek, Georgia and wish them the very best during this exciting transition," said Price.
