City hosting Pitch, Hit & Run competition April 20 at Ocee Park
Free event allows youngsters ages 7-14 to test skills, advance to national competition
JOHNS CREEK, Georgia—March 24, 2008—Budding Major Leaguers can test out their skills on April 20 as the City of Johns Creek Recreation and Parks Division hosts a free Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run competition at Ocee Park starting at 1:30 pm.
Boys and girls compete together in four age divisions: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14. The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each age group advance to the Sectional Level. From there they have a chance to move on to Team Championships at Major League ballparks such as Atlanta's Turner Field. This year's National Finals take place at the 2008 MLB All-Star Game on July 15 in historic Yankee Stadium.
All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and fill out a registration/waiver form prior to the start of competition. Contact the Recreation and Parks Division, 678-512-3200 for more information.
