CALEA accreditation achieved in record time

The Johns Creek Police Department was awarded a CALEA Accreditation July 31, becoming the first law enforcement agency in the nation to receive the important recognition within two years of its founding. Read more.

Johns Creek swimmers break state records

The JC Aquatic Team took home eight 1st-place medals, five 2nd-place medals, four 3rd-place medals and broke three state meet records at the Georgia Recreation and Parks State Swim Meet in Carrollton July 30-31. Read more.

The City isn't giving up on its long quest for its own ZIP Code. On July 26 the City Council gave Mayor Mike Bodker a green light to pursue a separate ZIP Code for the city's businesses and residents. Read more.

In an emergency, minutes count. With 41 gated communities and apartments, officials feared a locked gate would slow their response. Thus a system has been installed that allows emergency vehicles to quickly open the gates. Read more.

National garden group to visit Newtown garden

Newtown Park Community Garden is one of three gardens to be featured in a tour by the American Community Garden Association as part of their 31st Annual Conference on Community Gardening in Atlanta in early August. Read more.

No campaign signs in public right of way
