Citizens Police Academy to launch March 16

Johns Creek Citizens Police Academy

Johns Creek residents can get an up-close look at their police department at the new Citizens Police Academy that starts March 16. The nine-week long Academy is open to residents age 21 and older. Read more.

GDOT expects to finish McGinnis Ferry by 2011

State road officials say widening of McGinnis Ferry Road, originally set for July 31, now should be done by year end. The delay is attributed to frequent, heavy rains and unexpected utility-related problems. Read more.

Time to renew business tax certificates

Businesses in the City have until March 31, 2010 to renew their business tax certificates by submitting a business tax return with full payment of all fees and taxes due. Read more.

April 1 deadline to file Homestead Exemptions

Only homeowners who have not applied previously or who qualify for new exemptions need to fill out the homestead exemption paperwork. File with Fulton County by Apr. 1. Read more.

Police advance in CALEA accreditation process

The JCPD advances to the next stage of the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies with an April on-site inspection. The department must comply with 418 law enforcement standards for professionalism. Read more.
