EJCH Community Health Festival May 16
Emory Johns Creek Hospital is hosting a community-wide health festival from 9 am to 2 pm on Saturday, May 16, with bone density, cholesterol and glucose screenings, plus physician consults from various disciplines.
Also available: Food vendors, community partner booths, a Kids Corner with face painting and activities, complete with entertainment by Banks and Shane. Flyer.

Golf tourney May 18 is 'fore' Special Olympics
The Johns Creek Police Department will host a fundraiser golf tournament May 18 at the Standard Club as part of their Law Enforcement Torch Run events for Special Olympics.
More than 1,000 Georgia law enforcement agencies raise funds for the non-profit organization, which provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for more than 22,000 intellectually disabled Georgians. Entry/sponsorship form.

Join City for Public Works Week May 18
In honor of National Public Works Week May 17-23, the Johns Creek Public Works Department will host an open house on Monday, May 18 between 5 and 7 pm in the City Hall parking lot in conjunction with the City Council meeting.
Meet the people who maintain and improve the City's infrastructure, particularly the roadways, and check out a sampling of the equipment arsenal they use to get the job done. There will be informational presentations; children will have an opportunity to "touch a truck" (and other equipment) and everyone can enjoy food, games and giveaways.
Details are still being finalized; check the City's Web site for more info to come. National Public Works Week is observed each year during the third full week of May. This year's theme is "Revitalize, Reinvest, Renew."

Adult Mixed-Doubles Tennis Tournament May 30
The City of Johns Creek is presenting the 1st Annual Adult Mixed-Doubles Tennis Tournament on Saturday, May 30 at the Newtown Park tennis courts.
16 couples (32 players) will compete at each level of play. Some divisions may fill up fast so be sure to register early (registration deadline: 5 pm, May 22). Read more | Flyer & Registration Form.

'Super CPR Saturday,' June 6
JC Fire offers free life-saving class
Just in time for the summer swimming season, the JCFD is hosting "Super CPR Saturday," June 6, at the Bricks Auditorium of Perimeter Church in Johns Creek (southwest side; Old Alabama Road entrance).
This FREE event features hands-on instruction in lifesaving techniques (CPR and AED) based on the American Heart Association's "Friends & Family" (non-certification) program. The one-hour CPR/AED class will be offered at 10 am, Noon, 1 pm and 2 pm. Families and children ages 5+ are encouraged to attend.
