"Bulky Trash Amnesty Day" Nov. 3
Looking to dispose of that unwanted washer, refrigerator, sofa or other oversize items? Bring them to the City of Roswell's Public Works Division, 1810 Hembree Road, on Saturday, November 3 between 8 am and 2 pm for free disposal.
The event is open to Johns Creek residents and those from cities throughout North Fulton. Proof of residency, preferably a utility bill, is required. Click here for more info on acceptable items or contact Terry Porter, 678-297-6200.
High school groundbreaking Nov. 5

Holiday meeting changes
The City of Johns Creek will observe Veterans Day on Monday, November 12. All city offices will be closed and the Council meeting normally held on Monday will be held Tuesday, November 13 at 7pm.
It will be preceded by a work session at 5pm, replacing the work session normally held Nov. 19. City offices will also be closed Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday, November 22-23.
Centennial students spruce up Newtown Park
Some Centennial seniors spent October 17 at Newtown Park learning the value of water conservation and landscape preservation. Part of the school's annual "Senior Service Day," an estimated 50 students volunteered to shovel and haul wood chips provided by Davey Tree Company. About 100 bales of pine straw were spread to conserve soil moisture to give the young trees the best chance of surviving the region's extreme drought and outdoor watering ban.
In all Centennial students donated about 1,200 hours of volunteer time to North Fulton through its Senior Service program this year.
This way, we can all breathe easier
Increased productivity. Improved bottom line. Reduced absenteeism. Reduced stress.
It's hard to argue with the benefits of teleworking. And did you know Georgia is the first state in the country to offer employers a tax credit for teleworking? It's true; employers are eligible for a one-time tax credit of up to $20,000 for program planning, design and training, plus tax credits of up to $1,200 for each new teleworker.
As home to numerous companies as well as commuting workers, Johns Creek is a prime spot for teleworking to flourish. To find out how your company can cash in, contact the Clean Air Campaign, 1-877-CLEANAIR.
