McGinnis Ferry Road project kicked off
Widening for 5-mile stretch scheduled for completion in 2010
City officials and representatives from the Georgia Department of Transportation and Fulton and Forsyth counties kicked off the long-awaited widening of McGinnis Ferry Road with a brief ceremony August 3.
The project will widen an approximate five-mile stretch of roadway between Sargent Road and the Chattahoochee River from two lanes to four, and add sidewalks and a raised median to improve safety and traffic flow. Lane closures will be restricted to overnights and weekends. However, given the project scope, some traffic delays are expected.
