Johns Creek Municipal Court
Begins Tuesday, June 19
The City of Johns Creek will open its first Municipal Court June 19, 2007, at 11445 Johns Creek Parkway, just off GA-141/Medlock Bridge Road.
As of June 19, individuals with code violation citations should report to that location on their assigned court date.
"The City's vision is to provide a 'state of the art' Court facility, which will provide the very best service possible to the community," said Clerk of Court, Tony Day.
Later this summer, the Court will begin handling traffic violations issued in the City. A public notice will announce the future date, and until then, traffic violators should continue to report to Fulton County Superior Court.
Future plans call for the City's proposed Police and Fire departments to also be housed in the building, which will become the Johns Creek Public Safety Facility, pending Council approval.
Council weighs millage rate
Public hearings set June 11th, 18th, 28th
The City is currently in the process of establishing its 2007 millage rate. Since Johns Creek was not incorporated until December 1, 2006, this will be the initial millage rate for the City.
In order to comply with notification requirements, the City has advertised the tentative adoption of a millage rate for 2007 consistent with its City Charter, of 4.731 mills. The City anticipates official adoption of its 2007 millage rate at a meeting to be held at City Hall on Thursday, June 28 at 7 pm.
Prior to the adoption of the millage rate, the City will hold three public hearings to provide concerned citizens with several opportunities to comment on the City's millage rate.
These hearings will be held at the new Johns Creek City Hall, 3rd floor Council Chambers,
12000 Findley Road, Johns Creek, Georgia, as follows:
- Monday, June 11 at 7 pm
- Monday, June 18 at 6 pm
- Thursday, June 28 at 7 pm
