 Fulton County Government provides the following services to the City of Johns Creek: police, fire, water, sewer, animal, 911 emergency communications and emergency management.
Fulton County is governed by a 7-member Board of Commissioners, which establishes policies for the health and welfare of county residents; adopts an annual budget for county government operations; authorizes bond referenda; and enacts plans for county growth and development.
Five commissioners are elected by geographic district and two are elected countywide, including the chairman. Johns Creek is part of District 3, which also includes Alpharetta, Milton and parts of Roswell. |

Fulton County Police Department provides police services to the City of Johns Creek until the April 26, 2008 launch of the Johns Creek Police Department.

Fulton County Emergency Communications provides a vital communications link between Johns Creek citizens and Fulton County Police and Fire via an Enhanced 911 Emergency Telephone Number System, which automatically associates an address with a phone number to enable dispatching the appropriate public safety responders.
The 911 Center operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Fulton County Fire Department provides fire protection services for the Citizens of Johns Creek, until August 2008 when the Johns Creek Fire Department begins.

The Atlanta-Fulton County Emergency Management Agency coordinates policies and procedures for execution of all major emergency and disaster operations in Fulton County, including Johns Creek.
AFCEMA plans, organizes, and prepares for saving lives, protection of property, and recovery from the effects of an emergency, disaster or catastrophe.

Fulton County Animal Services, managed by Barking Hound Village Foundation, provides animal care and control to Johns Creek. It investigates cruelty and neglect and picking up stray or lost animals. It also shelters and cares for animals at its headquarters at 860 Marietta Boulevard in Atlanta.
