Alcohol License Review Board
Purpose: To serve as a recommending body to the Mayor and City Council for the purpose of hearing cases that have requested a pouring license or a license for package goods.
Members: Walter Hobbs, Steve Noury, Edwin Pearlman, Michael Stoll and Michele Wade.
Construction Board of Appeals
Purpose: To decide on cases requesting variances or code interpretation or to appeal a staff decision on regulatory ordinances of the construction of buildings or the life safety within such structures. Such codes include but are not limited to the Standard Building Code with editions and the Life Safety Code with editions. Other ordinances adopted in the future that include regulatory requirements that include building and development may come under the purview of this Board.
Members: Fred Bradley, Linda Broyles, Wayne Carrel, Scott Thompson and Jim Warren.
Board of Zoning Appeals
Purpose: This board is a decision making board in that any appeal to their decisions shall be made to the Superior Court of Georgia. Their purpose is to decide on cases requesting variances and/or code interpretations on the regulatory ordinances of the city including but not limited to: Zoning Ordinance, Land Subdivision Regulations, and the Land Development Regulations. Further the board shall hear cases requesting an appeal to a staff interpretation and/or decision on the above referenced ordinances. Planning Commission
Purpose: To serve as a recommending body to the Mayor and City Council for the purpose of upholding and implementing the vision and objectives as outlined in the Comprehensive Plan and accompanying regulatory ordinances such as Zoning and Land Subdivision Regulations of the city. Future Boards & Commissions

Cultural Arts Commission
Purpose: To serve as a recommending body to the Mayor and City Council for the purpose of developing a cultural arts program in both performance and visual/sculptural arts for the city. The commission shall be staffed with representatives of the Mayor's office serving as their liaison.
Design Review Board
Purpose: To serve as a recommending body to the Mayor and City Council for the purpose of hearing cases that pertains to the adopted architectural standards, themes, and elements of the city including streetscape and landscape.
Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
Purpose: To serve as a recommending body to the Mayor and City Council for the purpose of developing a master plan for parks and recreation. The Director of Parks and Recreation shall serve as a liaison to this Advisory Board for purposes of coordinating the stated goals and polices of the Mayor and City Council. Further the commission shall work with the Director in the development of an overall activity program plan for the department.
Senior Citizens Advisory Board
Purpose: To advise the Mayor and City Council on initiatives impacting the population of persons 62 and older including but not limited to parks, recreation, health, fitness, education, planning, transportation, cultural affairs, and government affairs.
Special Needs Advisory Board
Purpose: To advise the Mayor and City Council on initiatives that have a direct result on special populations including but not limited to physical and/or mental health disabilities.
Transportation Advisory Board
Purpose: To advise the Mayor and City Council on transportation initiatives that impacts the existing and future roads, sidewalks, and connectivity of developments in the city. To serve as the liaison in the development and implementation of a Major Thoroughfare Study in order to create a plan for future transportation projects and the capitol improvement plan to bring about implementation of the plan.
Tree Advisory Board
Purpose: To serve as a recommending body to the Mayor and City Council for the purpose of developing and implementing a streetscape plan for the city as contained within the comprehensive plan and supporting regulatory ordinances.
