Plenty of Earth Day activities in Johns Creek during April Join the City of Johns Creek in celebrating Earth Day, April 22. This annual event marks the birth of the environmental movement and is designed to encourage action. It was initiated in 1970 by Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson and led to the Environmental Policy Act (1969), Clean Air Act (1970), Clean Water Act (1977) and fuel efficiency standards for automobiles.
