Many of you may not be aware of a proposed tax increase to support a MARTA expansion further north on GA 400.  Conventional wisdom might suggest such an expansion will significantly reduce traffic congestion and therefore is a no brainer.

2015 Year in Review

As I reflect on 2015, I am filled with pride at our accomplishments. I proclaimed 2015 as “The Year of Public Works” and we kept to that ideal.  We delivered a year of marked improvements, procedural advancements, and community discussion, introspection, and looking ahead.

December 2015

I am excited about the proposed 10-year Recreation and Parks strategic plan which was recently presented to the City Council for review and discussion, and I want to take this opportunity to provide a quick update of where we are in this process.

November 2015

After considerable discussion, community input, and refinement, the Johns Creek City Council approved the Fiscal Year (FY) 2016 Operating Budget of $60.4 million with a unanimous vote.  The City Council also committed more than 75 percent of its estimated $54 million in reserves.

October 2015

In an ongoing effort to address traffic concerns, the City Council has taken an aggressive approach to mitigate our growing traffic issues. We will continue to add projects as needed, and leverage innovative technology to best manage this challenge.

We are at a critical crossroads for our parks system and need your help.  Parks in Johns Creek are not just a nice-to-have feature in our community; our parks and recreational programs are an essential part of the high quality of life that makes our exceptional City a desirable place to live and raise a family.
To guide the improvements and expansion of our parks system over the next 10 years, we’ve hired a consulting team to help us create a master plan.

For as long as I have been your Mayor, I have been driven toward a more transparent government that allows our citizens to have more input in the plans and planning of our City.
