2014 Georgia Municipal Association Conference
June 23, 2014 — Mayor Bodker was elected 1st Vice President of the GMA at its annual conference in Savannah. He presented a Report from the Legislative Policy Council, which he chaired, and also moderated a concurrent session titled Human Trafficking: Sex, Slavery and Exploitation.
The session featured a panel discussion with State Senator Renee Unterman, Chair of the Health and Human Services Committee and Judge Bradley Boyd, Chief Judge of the Fulton County Juvenile Court.

Shakerag Elementary School Leadership Day
May 14, 2014 — Mayor Mike Bodker participated in Shakerag Elementary School's annual Leadership Day.
Shakerag's Leadership Day, which implements Stephen Covey's "7-Habits of Highly Effective People," focuses on students taking ownership of their learning and developing leadership skills. The program also allows students to develop leadership habits, set goals and provides opportunities for success.
Bodker, along with several community and school leaders and business owners, toured classrooms, learned about the "7 Habits" from student leaders, reviewed student projects and experienced student leadership in action.
