Council Member Bev Miller, Post 6, Mayor Pro-TemFollowing more than 12 years of community service experience in the Johns Creek community, Council member Bev Miller was elected to the City Council in 2006.

She is currently Mayor Pro Tem of the Council, having served in that position since 2006. In that capacity she acts as the Mayor in council proceedings on a temporary basis in the case of the Mayor's necessary absence. Additionally, she is a member of the Johns Creek Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Miller began her volunteer service with Johns Creek's public schools, serving in many capacities over the years with the PTAs and Local School Councils of her children's schools. Most recently, she served as Chairperson of the Northview/Chattahoochee Cluster Advisory Council and was a member of the Superintendent's Advisory Council for the Fulton County School System.

She was a founding board member of the Committee for Johns Creek (CJC), serving as its Treasurer. The CJC spearheaded the grassroots movement to incorporate what was then the unincorporated portion of Northeast Fulton County into the City of Johns Creek, the 10th largest city in Georgia.

She served as a legislative aide for State Rep. Chuck Martin at the Georgia General Assembly for the 2004, 2005, and 2006 legislative sessions.

Miller is currently Director of Community Relations for Emory Johns Creek Hospital, part of the Emory Healthcare System. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Johns Creek, President of the Johns Creek Business Association, a Board member of the Johns Creek Convention and Visitors Bureau, member of the Steering Committee for the Johns Creek Relay For Life, member of the American Cancer Society North Fulton Leadership Council, and a member of the Career and Technology Education Advisory Committee for Northview High School.

A native of Pottsville, Pennsylvania, Miller and her husband, Bob, have lived in the Shakerag community of Johns Creek for 14 years with their three daughters. They are members of Johns Creek United Methodist Church.

Miller holds a BS in Accounting and a MS in Taxation from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
