Post 2: Brad Raffensperger
Council member Brad Raffensperger took the oath of office Jan. 9, 2012, for the Johns Creek City Council Post 2 seat.
A licensed general contractor in eight states, Raffensperger is CEO/owner of a specialty construction business, Tendon Systems, LLC, and a structural/civil engineering design firm, Trillium Structures, Inc. Raffensperger also owns and operates a special-steel manufacturing plant and construction equipment leasing company.
Raffensperger is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer in 31 states. In Florida, he is a Licensed Threshold Inspector, which authorizes him to inspect buildings more than three stories tall.
He has served as chapter president of the Professional Construction Estimators Association of America, and as chairman of the Golden Hammer Engineering Scholarship Award program. He has been on the Board of Directors of Life Impact, a Christian men's mentoring program, and currently is a Board of Advisors member of Wise Path, LLC, a financial consulting firm.
A native of Pennsylvania, Raffensperger earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from The University of Western Ontario, and was awarded his MBA from Georgia State University.
The Raffenspergers attend North Point Community Church where he helps mentor 29 8th grade boys.
Raffensperger married his high school sweetheart, Tricia, in 1976. They have three adult sons. Raffensperger and his family moved to Georgia from Virginia in 1982 and have lived in their current Johns Creek residence since 1998.
Raffensperger also has coached youth basketball and youth soccer.
