Post 1: Randall Johnson
Council member Randall Johnson was elected to the City Council following his work as a volunteer with two groups which spearheaded the 2006 incorporation of the city: Citizens for Newtown (CFN) and the Committee for Johns Creek (CJC).
As a founding member of Citizens for Newtown, Johnson helped persuade his neighbors of the Newtown community to "Vote Yes for Johns Creek" in the July 18 voter referendum, which led to the city's incorporation.
Serving on the board of the Committee for Johns Creek, Johnson continued his work as a volunteer to help establish the city prior to incorporation.
In 2008, Johnson was nominated to participate in the Coverdell Leadership Institute. CLI promotes conservative values and ethics in government. Individuals are selected from a field of state-wide applicants. He graduated from CLI in 2009.
Johnson has also been appointed to serve on the Milton County Legislative Advisory Committee to assist and advise Speaker Pro Tem Jan Jones and Representative Lynne Riley as they proceed with historic legislation to allow the creation of Milton County.
He is currently owner and board member of D.T.L. Transportation, Inc., a less-than-truckload specialized refrigerated and time-sensitive shipment carrier based out of Sanford, FL with warehouse operations in Miami.
A native of Belleville, Kansas, Johnson and his wife, Stephanie, have lived in the Newtown community of Johns Creek for 15 years. They have one son and are members of Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church in Johns Creek.
Johnson holds bachelors and masters degrees in Agricultural Economics from Kansas State University.
