Capital Improvement Projects
A Capital Improvement Program (CIP) is a multi-year plan that assesses capital facility needs in a city against its overall goals and objectives.
The CIP contains projects budgeted in the current fiscal year, as well as projects in subsequent years for which funding may not have been obtained or authorized.
Transportation
The Transportation Division of Public Works develops and updates the transportation system CIP projects, including:

Coordinating the program and its projects with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) and Fulton County.

Overseeing engineering and design to ensure objectives are met.

Incorporating environmental concerns such as historic resources, endangered species and habitats, and hydrology.
The Transportation CIP map shows the location of planned capital improvement transportation projects in the City.
Right-of-Way (ROW) acquisitions are underway for three intersection improvement projects:
The ROW acquisitions are scheduled for completion in Spring 2011. The projects will move into the construction phase in Fall 2011.
Recreation & Parks
The Recreation & Parks Department is responsible for the development and implementation of the City's capital improvement Recreation & Parks projects, which include the creation of a Comprehensive Parks Master Plan, land acquisition and park improvements.
