Community Development provides the City's comprehensive land-use and environmental planning, zoning and permitting services, development review, and enforcement of building, zoning, development and environmental codes.
Williams brings to the City 28 years of experience working for municipal and county planning departments, serving most recently as Director of Planning and Development with Gwinnett County, Georgia.
Previously, Williams worked in the planning departments of Fulton County, Georgia and St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.
He joined Johns Creek in November 2006.
Canon has served 26 years (21 public and 5 private) in the land use, planning, and zoning profession. She served 21 years with the City of Roswell, Georgia and advanced from entry level to department head during her tenure.
Her private sector experience includes employment as a Real Estate Manager/Project Manager with BellSouth Mobility Inc, Land Use Manager with the law firm of Lipscomb, Johnson, Sleister, Dailey, and Smith, and Management with the Municipal Services Group of CH2M Hill.
Canon joined the City in October 2006.
Tim Inglis
Chief Building Official
Inglis has worked in diverse capacities for three local Georgia governments, including law enforcement, code enforcement, utilities, planning and development, facilities and also public works.
He holds international certifications as a Building Official and currently serves on the Permissive Codes Task Force, for the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.
Inglis was appointed Chief Building Official on December 1, 2006.
Reginald K. Miller
Chief Code Enforcement Officer
Miller joined the City as Chief Code Enforcement Officer in November 2006.
He most recently served in Code Enforcement for Sandy Springs, Georgia, having joined that city from Fulton County's Code Enforcement Department. Previously, he worked as Special Services Supervisor for Wachovia Bank, overseeing its physical security, investigations, armored couriers, and off-duty policemen for 20 years.
Seth Yurman, CPESC
Land Development Manager
Joining Johns Creek in March 2007, Yurman began his career with Fulton County as a senior erosion control inspector.
Previously, he was an Environmental Field Manager for a general contractor and served at the Georgia Association of Water Professionals as Stormwater/Erosion & Sediment Control Coordinator and Level 1 & 2 certified trainer for the state E&SC training and certification program and the Georgia Stormwater Management Manual Training course.
Yurman is on the technical coordinating committee for the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District.
Justin Kirouac
Planning & Zoning Administrator
Kirouac began his career at the City of Duluth, Georgia, as an Economic Development Specialist and Senior Planner before moving to the Georgia Municipal Association as the Research & Information Manager.
Prior to joining the City in February 2007, he served as Development Review Manager, Principal Planner and Senior Planner in the Gwinnett County, Georgia, Planning & Development Department.
